We here at MajorMadness.co.uk have spoken in the past, on the some of the foolish and damn right stupid laws still in existence that we mere mortals have to put with and that’s not even taking into account any new laws that jackasses in power wants to come up with.
Take I report I found on one of my news sites, now I can and will give credit for the police in this report getting a bit uncomfortable in doing their job here but if their getting uncomfortable surely that’s a sign to the powers that be that the law is just fucked up enough, that it should be thrown out.
Have a read…start of report…
90-year-old Florida man arrested for second time in a week after feeding the homeless again
When 90-year-old Florida resident Arnold Abbott said following his arrest on Sunday that police couldn’t stop him from feeding the homeless, he apparently meant it.
Abbott was charged again on Wednesday night for violating a new city law in Ft. Lauderdale that essentially prevents people from feeding the homeless.
“I expected it” he said in a Sun Sentinel report. “At least this time they let us feed people first.”
Officers lingered in the area for about 45 minutes during which time Abbott and volunteers with the Love Thy Neighbor charity he founded handed out more than 100 plates of hot chicken stew, pasta, cheesy potatoes and fruit salad to homeless men and women.
If he’s found guilty of violating city ordinance laws — his second in a week — he faces 60 days in jail or a $500 fine.
Abbott said he’s prepared to go to jail over his efforts.
“Why do I keep doing this?” he asked rhetorically. “Because these are my people and they deserve to be fed.”
In a slightly more confrontational incident on Sunday, four police cruisers and approximately a half dozen officers with the Ft. Lauderdale Police Department descended upon an area in the city where Abbott, charity representatives and church members were handing out hot meals to local homeless people.
One officer demanded that he “drop that plate right now” as others picked up the trays off food and inserted them directly into the garbage with lines of homeless people looking on.
The new law in Ft. Lauderdale comes after the city announced in January that people are restricted from camping, panhandling, food sharing and engaging in other “life sustaining activities.” The laws regarding food sharing where ironically enacted on Halloween when millions of people were out sharing candy.
Abbott applauded the officers for being more courteous in their enforcement of the law the second time around this week.
“They were very gentle,” Abbott said. “I think they feel a little guilty doing their job.”
End of report…
“life sustaining activities” are you fucking kidding me? You mean to tell me that if hand someone a bottle of water, that which we need to sustain our bodies with, I’m going to be arrested, hang on if someone stops breathing and I give them CPR and mouth to mouth resuscitation is that not sharing my air with them, air we breathe to sustain us, I’m going to get arrest, what bullshit.
Which dipshit thought up this law, when this bill got put in front of everyone to vote it in, why in the name of Zeus hairy bollocks did so many sacks of excrement think this was in anyway a good fucking idea, you fuckers make me sick.
You know there are a lot of us in the world that like to say we are straight up law abiding citizens but we’re usually used to those fucking laws making sense, the man’s ninety years old, you complete fuckwits, he’s going a great job, let him get on with it, instead of you people going down there to break up this little party, grab some plates and start handing out some, help out a little.
You know, god forbid one of these higher ups finds themselves falling from grace and going hungry, they are going to want help or someone to have a kind heart and give them a hot meal, do they really expect people to turn them away, show a cold heart stating the laws the law.
I saw a post on Facebook, little girl just eating with family, she took her meal and gave it to an old homeless person sitting on the bench outside, one of the sweetest things I’ve seen a kid do, her parents have got a great kid there, they can be proud.
Don’t you think, everyone should help instead of having to suffer the indignity of dealing with idiots making foolish and pointless laws all day?
